Fundamentals of Vedic Astrology (1.1)
In this 12-week course we start from the beginning, no prior knowledge of Vedic Astrology is needed. This live, interactive, instructor-led online course meets weekly on Mondays for 60 – 90 minutes. In level 1.1 we will start with the basics of astronomy and how Vedic Astrology developed. We will introduce the philosophy that is common to all of the Vedic Sciences. Then we move into an overview of the Planets and Signs. We will cover how to create and navigate the most common chart layouts so that you can begin to study your chart and the charts of your family and friends. (weeks 1 and 2)
Once the fundamentals are established, we will start with an in-depth study of each Planet. The Planets are the key activators of the chart so a solid foundation of the planets’ core characteristics, roles in life and friendships are essential. (weeks 3-10)
In the final two sessions of the course we will introduce techniques for timing and event and discuss how to assess planetary eclipses and retrogrades. (weeks 11 and 12)
Throughout this course we will be using example charts from public figures as well as class members to demonstrate the concepts and integrate the interpretation process as we learn.
